In our end of year awards ceremony it was like the fourth of July as each Student received a sheet of bubble wrap along with their medals.

This year whenever I brought in clocks for club use, the students would invariably start to pop the bubble wrap packing that the clocks are packed with. And as a responsible chess coach, I would tell them "no" so when ordering my last batch of awards, I had to order online as my local trophy guy just had a heart attack, I had a large amount of bubble wrap. I must say that this was the loudest award ceremony it was a popping good time.

Horn Elementary is sponsoring a tournament this Saturday, May 30that 9AM 5 rounds of g30.

Here are the trophies! and my daughters Asian Conflicts final project. But there is a team competition! Lets win this one.

Eddy Xu and Aditya Malgoankar won 3rd place in the K-3 open team competition, Eric and Justin Pieper and Barry Vigil won 2nd in the K-6 open team competition. Our players did our club proud.

May 30th will be the Horn Elementary Open. A great tournament unrated and rated sections.

May 25th there will be a G15 d5 USCF rated tournament at the Hobby Corner at Sycamore Mall for those interested noon to 4 pm.
